Die Sharks gewinnen das wichtige Spiel gegen die Hurricanes aus Glarnerland mit 4:3 nach Verlängerung. Aus Nesslauer Sicht besonders bitter: der Ausgleich der Gäste fiel erst 30 Sekunden vor dem Ende der regulären Spielzeit. Wie bereits im Hinspiel, müssen sich die Sharks mit zwei Punkten begnügen.

Die Nesslauer starteten etwas gehemmt ins Spiel. Obwohl die Nesslauer von Beginn weg das Spieldiktat übernehmen wollten, wehrten sich die Gäste aus dem Glarnerland mit einer sehr starken Defensivarbeit. So mussten sich die Zuschauer in der Sporthalle Büelen lange bis zum ersten Treffer der Partie gedulden. Dieser fiel dann kurz vor Drittelsende. 1:0 für die Sharks nach 20 Minuten.

Das mittlere Drittel wird wohl nicht als das spektakulärste und interessanteste Drittel in die Geschichte des Unihockeys eingehen. Bei beiden Teams wollte es an diesem Abend mit dem Toreschiessen nicht wirklich klappen. So hiess es nach 40 eher langweiligen Spielminuten noch immer 1:0 für die Sharks.

Umso spannender wurde es dann im letzten Drittel. Kaum war das letzte Drittel angepfiffen, so waren die Sharks auch schon am Jubeln. Eine Kaiser-Produktion führte zur 2:0-Führung für die Sharks. Die Sharks wiegten sich nach dieser frühen Führung wohl doch etwas zu sehr in Sicherheit. Eine Unaufmerksamkeit auf Seiten der Nesslauer führte dann auch, und zu diesem Zeitpunkt etwas überraschend, zum Anschlusstreffer der Gäste. Die Glarner gaben jetzt nochmals Gas und erspielten sich immer wieder gefährliche Chancen. Aber auch die Nesslauer spielten munter mit und hätten immer wieder die Chance gehabt, das Spiel frühzeitig zu entscheiden. Aber wie es oftmals so ist, kam es anders. Die Gäste erzielten in der 56. Minuten den Ausgleich. Die Nesslauer bewiesen Charakter und konnten in der 58. Minute den erneuten Führungstreffer erzielen. Dem Nesslauer Sieg schien nichts mehr im Weg zu stehen. Und scho wieder kam es anders. Die Hurricanes kamen 30 Sekunden vor Schluss zum verdienten Ausgleich. Wie schon im Hinspiel musste die Verlängerung über Sieg und Niederlage entscheiden. Nach 4 Minuten in der Verlängerung erzielten die Nesslauer das erlösende Tor und sicherten sich den wichtigen Zusatzpunkt.

Nächste Woche steht das Auswärtsspiel gegen die Crusaders aus Zürich auf dem Programm. Ein weiteres, wichtiges Spiel für die Sharks.
